Desktop Apps
Are You a Developer?

Description

Box Sync keeps files in sync between your desktop and Box account to help accelerate your workflow and centralize content.

- Select what you sync: Choose which folders you sync to gain easy access to the content you work with most
- Sophisticated conflict management: If two people make edits to a synced file at the same time, Box Sync can detect multiple changes and save copies of a file so your team can review potential version conflicts.
- Access files offline: You can always access the files you need right from your desktop, even when you're not online. Once you are, everything will get uploaded to Box automatically.

Box Sync is compatible with Mac OS X Snow Leopard (10.6) and Lion (10.7).

Box Sync is available for free to Box Business and Enterprise customers. If you would like to upgrade to Business or Enterprise and have Box Sync added to your account, please contact our sales team at 1-877-729-4269.

Yeah - its crap and doesn't install on Lion.

my Box sync for Mac worked for about a day before it stopped completely after pausing in its sync to allow other downloads to happen. Then refused to start. Not good news at all on first few days of the Box experience at Enterprise level. Particularly when the support desk failed to come up with a solution and then failed to answer questions . Did not really work 24/7 in UK terms either. Bit of an issue since we are moving the whole business a cross supposedly but less certain right now!

Box Sync for Mac is still very unreliable... The developers seem to be working hard and it is improving... but not dependable as yet - it should still be seen as a beta version (20 Feb 2012)

To be honest, I understand that this is their business model. I would love to have the desktop sync applications, but the other services are quite nice. What I would request is that you consider expanding your business model to include and upgrade from "Personal" accounts to a "Professional" account for individuals that don't work in an "Enterprise" or "Business" setting. I think if you made it $5/month with desktop sync and some of the other features, you might get some revenue that you don't currently have. But then again, your may have a different target for your business model. Thanks for a great service anyway, I do find it useful for me even without the desktop sync!

What a stupid business model. Box gave me 50gb free but the file size is limited to 100mb and no easy sync option unless you pay. Dropbox and Sugarsync are by far easier to use. Unless when I pay them I know what for.
