Box Adds New Partners to Help Law Firms be More Competitive

The legal services industry has fundamentally shifted to a buyer’s market and has become the most competitive we have ever seen. There are four major trends that are primarily causing this shift: 1) legal services are becoming commoditized, 2) nontraditional service providers are providing legal services, 3) smaller law firms are delivering quality legal services at much lower costs, and 4) the billable hour is no longer appealing and clients are demanding predictability in legal fees.

Box For Legal Icon for Blog-smallAs a former lawyer, I understand how much pressure law firms are facing to remain competitive and one way to compete in this environment is to leverage cloud and mobile technologies. Recently there has been an increase in law firms using cloud and mobile to deliver legal services as firms realize the importance of having access to the right information from any device - and we’ve definitely been experiencing this uptick at Box.

In the past year, Box’s sales in the legal industry grew more than 150 percent as customers like Perkins Coie, Wilson Sonsini and Fowler White Boggs use Box to collaborate internally and externally, manage and share information, and access legal documents on mobile devices.

Building on Box’s momentum in the legal industry we have some exciting news today that we believe will help our customers work more efficiently and cost effectively:

22 New End User App Partners

Our 22 new mobile and web partners improve efficiency for lawyers in the areas where they are faced with information challenges daily:

Integration with Guidance Software

As the volume of Electronically Stored Information (ESI) is increasing and eDiscovery cases on the rise, we are excited to announce a new integration with Guidance Software's EnCase eDiscovery product. With this integration, Box customers can easily search, collect and preserve ESI maintained in Box as part of a litigation or regulatory matter. EnCase directly integrates with Box APIs and eliminates multiple manual steps such as copying files and burning DVDs, and allow companies to respond to legal matters much faster, which is imperative during litigations and regulatory requests.

Integration with iManage via Intapp’s Integration Builder

We have a long-standing relationship with Intapp, one of the leading risk management legal software solutions for law firms. Earlier this year, we announced an integration with the Intapp Activity Tracker product and now we’re thrilled to be partnering with Intapp to give law firms a bridge between their legacy document management system, iManage, and Box. With the new integration, law firms can finally access their documents on mobile devices and collaborate with external parties.
