We’re excited to be at the Microsoft //build/ conference this week to talk about all the great ways Windows developers can quickly and easily build enterprise-ready applications on top of Box.
Our CEO Aaron Levie was on stage today during the morning keynote with Satya Nadella, President of Microsoft’s Server & Tools Business and Scott Guthrie, Corporate Vice President, Windows Azure, where he announced the exciting new ways we are improving the experience for developers building Box, Windows Store, Phone and Azure apps. The first is our integration with Windows Azure Active Directory (AD), which enables customers to utilize Box through the Windows Azure single sign-on and identity management system. The second is the launch of our new Windows C# SDK, which makes it easy for developers to create new Windows 8 and Windows Phone apps leveraging enterprise-grade storage and collaboration from Box.
Windows Azure AD Integration
Box is now integrated with Windows Azure Active Directory, allowing customers to access Box along with other applications using Windows Azure’s single identity and authentication process. Any enterprise using Active Directory can easily set up and manage Box accounts for their users within their existing identity management system.
Windows C# Software Development Kit (SDK)
We recently launched new updates to our own Box for Windows apps, which added more control and security for users and admins. But now we’re adding new tools that make it easy for Windows developers to integrate with Box. Our new Windows C# SDK— built around the Box V2 APIs—is designed to make incorporating Box into Windows Store and Phone apps simple and seamless. The new SDK joins our recently-released iOS and Android SDKs, all of which provide easy-to-use code that can be dropped into an application.
