London Called – and Box Answered

Today at Le Web London, we will announce the opening of our first international headquarters. The new office will be located in central London and led by Box veteran Greg Strickland – VP of Business Operations since Box was just a small startup. We're looking to hire aggressively and will be lining up expanded operations in several other European countries, including Ireland, France and Germany.

Why Europe ... and why now? The biggest factor is that we’ve seen tremendous adoption in Europe over the past year. Our customer base in Europe has doubled over the last year, and overall, 50 percent of traffic to Box comes from users outside the United States. That’s very exciting, but it’s just the tip of the iceberg. CIOs across Europe and the rest of the globe are looking for solutions that are intuitive for users, while also providing IT with a scalable, secure platform to manage all their information.

With people on the ground in Europe, we’ll be able to better support existing customers there and accelerate Box adoption in new organizations. There are already many Box customers with global footprints, including Ben Sherman, Foster & Partners, Procter and Gamble and O2. And today, we'll also share news of even more European customers that recently implemented Box:

  • BAA, owner and operator of six UK airports – including London Heathrow – uses Box for simple, secure collaboration with partners across the continent.
  • Cuisine Solutions, leader in prepared foods based in France and the US, relies on Box to keep its recipes and other business-critical information safe and secure as employees access and share files while traveling.
  • Historic Futures, UK-based experts in supply-chain traceability, is implementing Box to help its geographically-dispersed workforce collaborate and share critical content – safely and securely, thanks to Box’s enterprise-grade security suite.
  • Matrix42, leading supplier for workplace management solutions in Germany, uses Box to access and share information – from any device, anywhere in the world.

Luckily, we were able to capture a few of these customers’ stories on video; click on their names to hear Historic Futures and Matrix42 talk about why they love Box.
