At Box.net, we're always on the lookout for exciting and complementary technologies that re-imagine traditional ways of working. Today, we're happy to announce an integration with TextFlow, adding a new layer to Box's version history and giving users a dynamic way to gather feedback across your business content.
We can all appreciate how cumbersome it can be to review and finalize documents on traditional software - feedback is often ad hoc (via email, track changes, etc.) and it's not uncommon to have multiple versions of a document floating around in different places. There has to be a better way. TextFlow is a great complement to Box's collaboration features, providing a dynamic way to gather and merge feedback from colleagues, partners and clients.
Here's how it works: invite collaborators to review and make changes to a document on Box. When all have added their input by uploading revised versions to Box, select "Merge Versions with TextFlow" from the action menu. You'll be able to see their collective input at a glance, with different collaborators' contributions coded by color. You can then compare feedback, accept suggested text, and set aside certain suggestions. When you save the revised version, you'll be directed back to Box with a new draft.
Check out the video to see how it works - and even better, take it for a spin yourself by selecting "Add Application" from the OpenBox directory. We think you'll like what you see.
