I'm obsessed with making Box customers as efficient as possible. That's why I was so excited when I found out about Folder Templates, a Box app that makes it a snap to set up folders. The templates you create keep a folder's structure (and even collaborators, if you like) but none of the content inside, making it easy to launch a project and start collaborating quickly.
To start, go to the folder you wish to use as a template and click “Folder Options” in the top right from within the folder, then “More Actions” and “Save Folder as Template.”
(You can also click More Options > More Actions > Save Folder as Template if you haven't yet clicked into the folder.)
You'll them be prompted to “Save Folder as Template,” so simply click “Okay” and log into your Box account with your credentials. Once you do, you'll just need to name your template and save it. Super easy.
Here's how you can re-create the template folder – including collaborators (again, only if you wish to!)
When inside the folder you want to create a new folder structure from a template, go to the “More Actions” menu and choose “Build Folder from Template.”
That's it! Now you have a new folder with your pre-saved structure and collaborators. Customize the folder as needed with whatever content you like, then start sharing and collaborating.
