With more workers than ever bringing mobile devices into the workplace, 2012 is set to be another breakthrough year for Apple in the enterprise. At Box, we've seen our iOS user base jump by leaps and bounds over the last quarter – clearly, workers want to be able to access their content from wherever they are.
My team is always thinking of ways to make your Box mobile experience simple yet powerful, which is why I'm pleased to announce a handful of new features for Box for iPhone and iPad that'll do just that.
Bulk Photo and Video Upload
You told us you wanted this feature, and we listened. Now you can send multiple videos or photos to Box – in the app, select "upload files," then "choose photos or videos."
When you receive a file via email, you can now send the attachment straight to Box. Just open the file, then click "Open in Box" to send it to the cloud. You can also send files straight to Box from other apps with Apple's document interaction feature enabled, like documents in Quickoffice.
Improved File Management
Need to rename or delete files on the go? Now you can. Just click on the info button in the top right corner of a file preview, choose "More" and pick the action you need.
Air Printing for iPhone
Now you can wirelessly print any content straight from the Box app on your iPhone (same functionality found on our iPad app). This feature works with any AirPrint enabled printer – just a single click on your iPhone will give you hard copies whenever you need them.
App integrations for iPhone
Just like on the iPad, you can now open (and in some cases, edit) your Box content in a bunch of other useful iPhone apps, like Quickoffice, Noterize and GoodReader, to name a few.
Of course, these features are in addition to all the existing features of Box for iPhone and iPad. I think these improvements will definitely help mobile workers – like sales reps and construction workers on site – remain productive while away from the office. Download the app today to start managing your content and uploading files from anywhere.
