The Directive of the Digital Government Strategy, BYOD, Cloud and ever-present connectivity continue to be top of mind for government agencies as we head into 2013. As you plan your mobility and cloud strategy for the coming year, it’s important to identify where you can show quick wins that meet your security requirements. Which use cases are best for information sharing within and between agencies, as well as with citizens? What collaboration controls will you need to put in place – such as who shares which content, who is an editor, who can delete and who can set file and folder permissions?
On November 13th, Ted Schadler of Forrester and I discussed many of these challenges and concerns as they relate to the adoption of mobility and the cloud in the Federal Government in a one hour webinar. If you missed the live event, I’d encourage you to watch the replay and leverage it as food for thought as you build your technology strategy for next year. Because security is so critical for any cloud initiative, I’d also recommend reading the security white paper and further details on secure content collaboration in the Box Federal Tooklkit. It’ll equip you with information to plan the features you need – from the end user device all the way to the data center – in order to keep your content and collaboration confidential.
Here’s to a more collaborative government in 2013!
