Box Business Fellowship | March 12-16, 2018

Box Business Fellowship Program

What is the Box Business Fellowship program?

When students think about careers in Tech they think the only path is engineering. But it takes more than engineering to run a tech company.

The Box Business Fellowship is an opportunity for students to explore business careers in the Tech Industry. We're especially excited to build connections with students who identify with historically underrepresented groups in Tech. Over the course of one week, you will learn about different roles in Sales, Customer Success, Recruiting, and other departments. You will participate in daily workshops to learn business essentials and then practice those skills with the help of mentors. Our co-founders and executives will meet with you to answer your questions and share their experiences. At the end of the program, you will have insight into the career opportunities available and the skills to be successful in those roles.

Q: What is the application process like?
A: For the written application, we ask you to include your resume and also answer a few quick questions about your previous experiences and what you hope to get out of the fellowship. Our team will review the applications and conduct phone interviews to learn more about you. From there we will select our Business Fellows to join the program!

Q: Is there a cost to participate in the Fellowship?
A: Nope! We want to make sure everyone will be able to join. We will cover cost of travel, room and food during your fellowship.

Q: What if these dates don't work for me or I can't make every day?
A: We want to make sure you get the full experience of the fellowship, and so unfortunately, we cannot accommodate different schedules. We realize that not everyone has the same weeks off of school and are sorry if this opportunity does not work out for you. We hope to expand to multiple weeks in future years.

Q: When will I find out if I've been selected?
A: Final decisions will be communicated to all applicants by Friday, February 23th. Then we'll take care of booking your flights and accommodations from there.

Q: What will I learn in the program?
A: First, you'll understand how a tech company operates and the different careers available on the business side. You'll hear about the day to day responsibilities of Box employees in Sales, Customer Success, Recruiting, and other functions. We also want to equip you with the skills you need to start your career in these roles through workshops and practice sessions. Ultimately, we want the experience to be valuable for you, so once we have chosen our finalists, we will work with you to refine the curriculum to your interests.

Q: What happens at the end of the fellowship?
A: We want to enable you to learn more about different career opportunities and ultimately to pursue those opportunities. At the end of the fellowship, all candidates will have the opportunity to be considered for internship or full-time roles at Box.

Q: Where can I find other opportunities at Box?
A: Visit our careers website to find more about our open Internship and full-time positions.
